We're gonna get you some help here. let me do a little searching for the right threads.

There are no complete threads to every build because each bike is custom built and everyone has different ways ( skill levels) of doing things along with the fact that people put different motors in different frames.
So it just stands to reason that no 2 bikes are alike.

We can and will provide you with lots of guide lines but you ultimately need to fill in a lot of the details your self. Example........ You need to decide where your gonna put the gas tank. I cant do that for you. So where you put it determines how you build it. Know what I getting at?

Oh, by the way I moved your post to the projects area so we can treat this like a project build and document everything for future builders. Sound cool?

Heres a few threads that have some pics of some frame work. There is a TON of good info in these theads and others on here. This is a REALLY GOOD start.
Like I said, Keep in mind that if your looking for a forum or a thread where some one sat down and wrote out step by step how to build a quad, your not gonna find it.
These are ALL custom built ATVs. There is no blueprint or instructions. Everyone uses different frames and motors.
You have to do whats best with your frame and your motor.

With the builds I personally have been involved in, the process goes like this.

Select frame and motor.

Is it gonna be a rigid or a suspended bike? ( struts or shocks?)

You have to know what kind of suspension your gonna use.

If it gonna be suspended you SHOULD get the shocks re valved for the extra weight of the motor, otherwise that things gonna bottom out like crazy.

Mount frame on stand holding front and rear firmly in place.

Start taking measurments of everything you can before you start cutting so that when your done building the bike you know its right.

The most important measurement you need to know is where is the placement of the primary sprocket.

That is critical to proper suspension and eliminating chain issues. The 5th link down shows the importance of motor placement (ie, sprocket placement).

You need to hold the frame in place at the exact ride height you want the new bike at.

With the front clamped in place and the rear clamped in place, start cutting the middle out where the motor in gonna go. Take small sections out at a time untill you can fit the motor in place.

With the motor in place, (Being held there with an engine hoist) now you can start rebuilding your frame.

I've always used chromolly tubing. Now the fun begins. A tubing bender will come in handy here.

Now its up to you to figure out how your build the frame and weld it back together.

Nobody can tell you ..."weld this here or weld that there"

Get the frame back together with the motor in and the wheels and suspension on first.

Then we can go from there.

Not only is there really good info in these lins , there is lots of good info in the tech section also.

Like I said, there is no "ONE GOOD POST". you have to sort through all the info and apply it to what your building.

A pictures worth a thousand words, so heres some pics of how others have done it.

I can vouch that sprocket placement is very very important. Also chain tension is very important. I ride my bike everywhere, jump it, drag it, throw it around in the dunes and the one thing I found is chain/sprocket alignment and tension. I checked and setup my chain/sprockets so that under full travel of the rear swingarm I have only about .125-.25" of slack. It is snug with the swing arm fully extended and then barely has any slack while fully compressed. Once I got it adjusted and figured out, I havent had any problems or the chain come apart since. I have destroyed a few front sprockets here and there though, but with the chain snug, it doesnt happen as much.
