I just did a 636 swap into my yfz! the key is to have the front sprocket half a inch below the center of the rear sprocket and the swing arm pivot. so what I did was i took a peice of string and ran it fron the center of the rear sprocket and up thru the center of the pivot, kept it straight up to where the front sprocket is and made sure the front is around a half inch below that line! then line it up and make it level in the frame!

i am still building my 04 raptor with the 07 r1
big thing is the air box and the adj velocity stacks, had to make a piece to hold 4 little air filters.instead of that big air box, came out pretty good, have a coulple others i had made if you are intrested.
again you have to make sure about the sprockets or you will break the cases when the chain breaks.
on my raptor i went with a +12 swinger

I would like to see some pics of your raptor. If you have some of the air filters that would be good to. Did you use K&N filters? If so do you have a part #? I have a 07 r1 motor. I am planning on putting it in my raptor this summer.

Are you including the pipe pieces with the base plate? Did you weld the pipe to the base plate? I might be interested.Do you have a part # for them filters? How tall are the filters? Do you have any pics with the motor in your raptor? Thanks

with the 2in od pipe it would be best to do that your self, might need them longer or shorter to fit your air filter.the hole in the base plate is 2 in od so the tube is very snug had to sand down the pipe just a tad and hammer the pipe in.it is not welded but will be getting some expoxy around the seal.again with the air filters you might need some shorter or taller ones, depends how much room you have between the frame and the motor.i am using shorter air filters as i am using the stock gas tank that i modified to use the stock fuel pump for the r1 motor.no motor pics in the frame yet still have a little bit more fabbingt and welding and i will try to get some pics up.

Yeah i was planning to use the stock pump and the raptor tank. I wasnt sure how to mount the stock r1 pump on it though. I seen one other guy do it to his. Do you have any pics of the tank and pump?
